96D (Chicago IL)

96D Hails from Chicago's own Chemically Imbalanced Comedy. Performing long form Improvisation inspired by a single word or phrase given by the audience. The first three scenes performed are overlaid with environment and additional emotions by the players watching the scene. After the that the characters created in the initial scenes will return through out the piece with there worlds explored and heightened. 96D have performed there unique brand of Improv at the Milwaukee Improv Festival, Snubfest, Playground Theater in Chicago and Chemically Imbalanced Theater in Chicago. Casual Threat (Honolulu, HI)

A trio that has over 40 years combined experience in improvisation, Casual Threat plays a variety of characters, creatures and, sometimes, objects. The Dart-Mondo (Seattle WA)

This group from Jet City Improv in Seattle Washington combines improv and stand-up comedy for a very unique show. Guest Stand up comics performs their written material for the audience, and then improvisers reinterpret the material through improvised scenes. The result is doubly funny. (dartmondo.com)


The Initiative (Aiea, HI)

The Initiative debut at last years Improvaganza with there long for show "La Cafe" this year they present there second long form show "Two Drink Minimum." the Show revolves around a group of friends who frequent a new singles bar every weekend based off of the audience suggestions. The charm of the show comes from the show's strong characters and their relationships.


Loose Screws in "Spaced 1919"(Honolulu, HI)

As Hawai`i’s longest running improv group, Loose Screws present "Spaced 1919." This homage to Sci-Fi Television series like “Battle Star Galactica” and “Firefly” takes the audience trough a completely unscripted and un-aired episode of their faux sci-fi TV show "Spaced 1919." On The Spot in "OTS: The Musical"(Aiea, HI)

On the Spot, the group that is hosting the 2008 Improvaganza, proudly presents its improvised Broadway musical. The cast of six will amaze and intrigue audiences by not only spontaneously creating and performing Broadway songs and musical numbers in front of a live audience, but tie it into a complete story arc. Mid-Pacific Institute High School's resident improv group appears at Improvaganza for the third time this year! This year, Owltastic delves into Chicago-style long-form improv.


Pale Irish Bastards (Los Angeles, CA)

The Pale Irish Bastards are a true organic improv group from Los Angeles California. As organic improv is rarely taught anywhere in the country, the group developed its show and style based on the use of movement and exploration of stage space to find and generate scenes. Parallelogramophonograph Presents: French Farce (Austin, TX)

P-Graph a group from Austin Texas which specializes in narrative theatrical improv presents French Farce. As the name implies, the show is a completely improvised French Farce, taking inspiration from Moliere, “Fawlty Towers”, and everything in between. Road Trip (Mililani, HI)

Road Trip is a one man improv show featuring Garrick Paikai which pays homage to the Bob Hope and Bing Crosby road trip movies of the 1940s. The audience will travel along with an entire ensemble of characters as performed by one man. Complete with physical stunts and a full character story arc, Road Trip is funny and clever. Seven Foot Baby (New York, NY)
This Power Trio form New york is proud to present their original long form show "REVERB." Reverb incorporates the suggestion of a song melody which the group translates it to movement, physicality, and scene work. Snake & Bunny (New York, NY)

Snake & Bunny are regulars in the New York improv scene. They perform weekly shows at the Magnet Theatre and the People’s Improv Theatre and quickly became an established power house duo. Improvaganza All Stars!

Hosted by Laughtrack Theater, this special performance features many of the performers from all of the groups performing at the 2008 Improvaganza!  Nobody knows what they're going to perform or who they're going to perform with!  A classic improv festival tradition comes to Honolulu for the first time.
